Head start
Scientists at Procter & Gamble’s fabulously white-coated, orange-goggled research facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio, have cracked the genetic code of Malassezia, the tiny, enthusiastically reproducing fungus that’s the culprit behind dandruff. Based on the idea that women have no desire to use smelly, harsh, irritating shampoos, those same scientists have taken a leaf from the beauty book and applied their findings to the new Head & Shoulders range of shampoos and conditioners ($9 each, at drugstores), which smell salon-worthy, and address things like frizz and limpness, as well as the flaky ickiness.
